I thought so, so I set up so it gets ping'ed every few minutes and it 
has no effect.  When nothing is connected (wirelessly), it doesn't 
restart.  When there's something connected (wirelessly), it does it 
every few minutes.

I used to be pretty pissed at mine.  However, it crashes but rarely
these days, and I'm running ap-mrtg every five minutes, and pinging
my neighbor's PC at the same time.  Maybe they never get a chance to
fall asleep?
