Cisco is currently recommending beacon intervals of up to 4000.. This is due a bug in the current firmware where you get constant re-association messages with low beacon intervals. Purported to be fixed in the next firmware release.
The beacon intervals is the amount of time between beacons announcing the AP's SID to the world. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Westman, Michael (324) Sent: Monday, May 26, 2003 11:11 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [BAWUG] Beacon interval on Cisco BR350 I recently established a longish (five miles) link between two Cisco bridges. The two radios wouldn't talk until I increased the beacon interval from the default of 100 to 1000. What is the beacon interval and what is the effect of changing it?
