Since i got my card a couple days ago, it hasnt been smooth sailing ever since. Im presently at cup-a-joe. it's been my hang out for the past couple days :)
anyway, i have weirdesque signal problems. A good signal right now, like i'm having atm is about 40-50 ... but sometimes it just drops. down to less then 10 ... so running acu (with the kernel/pcmcia-cs drivers though) give me oscillating results, associated . disabled ...
for surfing its not the end of the world, but when i gotta do some work over a shell, it really sucks :-/ . as i was doing so yesterday, i had to use cup-a-joe's mac os x comps to complete longer lasting processes in fear of loosing the connection every 30 secs - 1 minute as its happening with my lappy.
anyway. this is getting my pissed off.
im running kernel 2.4.20 pcmcia-cs 3.2.4
have have installed firmware version 4.25.23, which is not the latest, but the latest ive found available in .img format.
anyway.
since ive got the lmc card, i have an antenna and pigtail. both bought from fab-corp.
the pigtail is the mmcx male to N male ... and the antenna is a pacific wireless (something like that) omni antenna ... basically a pole with a spring into it. its rated at 5.5 dBi, but with the cable loss, 10' x -0.4 dBi / 1' ... gain shuld be around 1.5 ... maybe the pigtail is about 1 dB loss and i end up with poor signal for obvious reasons. But i could know how to tell.
i would love to see these problems resolved!
thanks alot., lawrence
