Tsk, tsk.
Ok. I congratulate you and all those which have been blaming the people which feel headaches when there near some RF transmitters. You, like me and like most of the people, have a normal body, normal contexture and normal natural protection against RF radiations. I'm not medic but i believe most of the people have that kind of protection. It's the "natural" way of things.
Thank you for your informed medical opinion Dr. Julian. Where did you get your medical degree in immunology from?
But, i've learned in life that there are people which have different bodies. They are sensitive to things many people doesn't. They tend to be a minority, in some cases very small. But they exists. And i don't expect a professional to believe that because someone has been next to antennas and transmitters their whole life and nthing has ever happened to them (good for them) it will not happen to anybody else.
The minority doesn't write policy, sorry, but that's the way it is. We don't give credence to imagined illnesses. PROVE IT!
By the way, i'm concerned about feeling so much anger and hate about this subject in this forum. I live in Colombia and here we don't have the very well developed legal system. here, you can't sue a store because they sold food without warning you that you'll get fat. I know it's different over there and it may be dissapointing and frustating for many people to have to shutdown your AP just because some people just "fearing" a "possible damage" with RF radiations is sueing schools and could set a precedent here.
I live a LONG way away from the left-coasters, but make no mistake, if some shyster can find an idea that can be used to sue someone, they will use it. In response, we (the jury) have jury nullification to rule against bad law.
There is no particular "hate", that's merely a response from a mis-informed touchie-feelie. Get over it. Stop echoing the drone, form your OWN opinion...
Anger, yes, hate, no. We will merely let some 12 jurors decide the facts, most of which have no friggin idea of what a WAP is. Welkom to Amerika. Cater to this crap, and we're both out of business. We need to get out front on this, and if it takes a counter-suit, as much as I dislike shysters, so be it. This is all new law, and precedence is being set, do you want it to be "their" way or the way of scientific fact?
But, my opinion, is that a professional must be qualified and prepared to listen to everybody's opinions even though they are different than ours.
Where the hell did you come up with that pap? Prove it, prove it, prove it. We don't have to listen to ANY of these idiots. They're wrong, and we need to make them either prove their assertions, or go away. The best way is to make it so uncomfortable for them they decide to go away. Otherwise, you'll wind up fighting the same battle over and over again.
I can't prove that my friends really fells headaches when they're near a transmitter. I can only be sure that here in Colombia we have absolutely nothing against RF radiations. We're the administrators for the largest government-owned data carrier (both PSTN and data carrier) provider in the city and we've been working with all kind of machines which generates all kind of RF radiations too. Well i must admit we don't work next to big sized antennas but we work in rural wireless telephony too (it's the law here) as well as satellite links. We have very much interest in becoming the largest WISP in this city (we would be the only and the first in the country). We would be very affected if there were "health issues" with deployment of WLANs. Whatever happens in USA will happen here as the FCC rules ten to be applied here too (local regulations).
Then get your head out of your posterior porthole, and realize YOURE NEXT should an asinine lawsuit like this prevail. We need to get our ducks in a line and prepare to ruin anyone who brings such a frivolous suit to bear. That is the only way we can prevent such atrocities from happening in the future.
You appear to be self destructive should you NOT fight this crap....your business model depends on this lawsuit failing, get on the stick and stop daydreaming. These people are out to cut your throat.
This is business, and the fate of free wireless is closely tied to this outcome. Not time to ponder the goddie-two-shoes response, this is war, and the first shots have been fired. Both the wireless WAP model and the free community stand to loose bigtime here. REALIZE THAT!
Let's just cool down this. Eco-terrorists ? screwed up in the head ? let's hear everybody's opinions and we'll have a nice talk.
You just heard mine...and yes, eco-terrorists. These people should be recognized for the threat they are. Theyre the same people as the ELF and ALF terrorists, and we should expose them for what they are, detrimental to progress and a threat to innovation and just plain liars, with NO substantial scientific backup to prove their assertions. Let them get away with it, and you (and the free services) can kiss your butts goodbye.
We are defending a free and legal part 15 service, and we had dammed well realize there are people who don't like our model, (AKA the phone companies and cable entities) who will encourage these nuisance lawsuits. Nipping them now, saves a lot of cost in the future.
