I carry a USB flash drive with me everywhere I go. On of the VERY
useful things on it is the winsock fix. It takes 15 seconds to apply
it and it then forces a reboot. I use it all the time, sometimes "just
in case" when I need a reboot, just because it forces a reboot. I will
set a sub up, and try to connect. If I can't I winsock. 99% of the
time it works. the other 1% is bad network card or cable issue, like
needing a crossover. The winsock fix for XP that I have works on all
M$ OSs. During the 15 second process it detects the OS.

Just thought of this. Would it work if the radio did
the DHCP. This is a Deliberant 2300.
