We have two high end ethernet connections to the net.

One is 1 meg commit and 100 meg burst.  We pay $350 per month per meg of AVERAGE usage.  We average a meg.

The other is 1 meg commit with 10 meg burst.  We pay $800 per month for a port in each of two towns.  Plus $200 per month based on average usage.  We average a meg per month.

The first one is a local PUD running fiber to every home in the county and the other is the local Telco.

If I'd not have gotten the 10 meg deal from Century Tel I'd have put in my own orthogon based solution spanning about 50 miles.

That help?

Subject: [WISPA] Back bone

Gentlemen and Ladies,

Just curious if anyone outside the major mets have a back bone of DS3 either partial or full and what they are paying for them.  I have been quoted $12000 per month for mine from AT&T who has to lease lines from IL Consolidated.  and I don't see now that is a workable figure in the wireless world.  Any help would be appreciated.
