I have multiple RB44s in servers and I have no repeat MAC addys. You better look again if you own a RB44 or talk to whoever told you that and let them know - - they are very mistaken! We have tried hardcoding both ports and letting them auto negotiate. Regardless, they eventually seem to lose sync. We haven't seen this problems on the MTIK units, but only the MTIK cards in PCs.
