Yes we paid for the rebuild and they certified it like all of their rebuilds. We spent around $19K for the refurb. We will not use it for any firefighting duties, but it is nice to know that the structure is sound. They work on all aerial platforms in the St. Louis Metro area, and are factory reps for most of the apparatus manufacturers. We will not re-certify it, as we do not need NFPA standards for a portable tower, so it would be better to say it "meets standards", and not it is "certified".
It does not have a pump, but it has plumbing to the top of the ladder. (2-1/2 or 3") The turret does not work anymore, but we only use it for vertical real estate. You actually paid for the testing to make sure that is compliant? Many Fire Departments in the US can't even afford this. In order to comply with NFPA 1914, one must recertify yearly, or after a significant event. Fairly extensive procedure done properly. > I have used it's lifting capacity to stack a 120' Rohn 25G tower in two > sections. Of course, you had your testing done AFTER using it as a lifting platform, otherwise your certification was invalid. -- WISPA Wireless List: [email protected] Subscribe/Unsubscribe: http://lists.wispa.org/mailman/listinfo/wireless Archives: http://lists.wispa.org/pipermail/wireless/ No virus found in this outgoing message.
