Mike,

 It seems to me that it would be no different than a phone line - - if you
do not surge protect it you stand the chance of losing your radios just like
folks always lose their modems in their PC's.

This is what I use in the NOC and at my tower sites:

They sale 8 module racks as well as about 12 or 15 module racks that are
rack mountable. I don't have any Alvarion - -so this may not apply.
