I want to send this to you so you can see what one of WISPA's Vendor Member's has to say about why it is important to be a part of WISPA. Here is what he said on another member's only list:

Frank Muto said:
Over the past year or so, I have had on more than one occasion a
conversation with Marlon on his last statement, "go the way of the dialup
industry". This is a true fact and spot-on as the dialup industry with many
of us included did a poor job in protecting our business. Sure, it was the
same 80/20 of those trying to do something as well as the many associations
we may have belonged to. But, it was stacked against us with no reason to
go into the historical details.

But, this is what I believe to be true for the WISP industry, you are
"talking the FCC's language", that is airwaves, frequency's, etc. They could
have cared less about copper for the most part and the, (IMO) TA 96 Act was
a pain in their side. But wireless is in their DNA, and when WISPA goes to
Washington and has meaningful discussions, the FCC and others have a soft
ear for what you have to say.

Now for that to continue on a regular basis, WISPA needs members, a
substantial amount to contribute in support of the WISP industry. For less
that $6 a week investment depending on your payment plan, WISP's can have an
opportunity to be represented by their peers on issues relevant to their
business needs. This is cheap insurance for a hopeful long term business of
a WISP.

Participation is a must, first and utmost is with financial support. From
there a paying member/vendor can participate in joining a committee, work
out logistics in planning industry events, FCC rule making research,
membership drives, CALEA and other regulatory issues, trips to D.C. etc,
etc, etc.

Best Regards,
