Biggest disadvantage to the PTP500 is that the surge suppression is built in unlike all other Moto PTP (formerly Orthogon) models where the "transector" or surge arrestor is external. With the 500 model if you blow the surge suppression you are out a radio until you can get Moto to replace it (as I understand it). Love the PTP series though. That is all we use for our backhauls.
