We use FAST-LC (or FAST-SC) connectors. You just need a cleaver. Cleave the strand, push it in, press the release, test it, use it. Take a look at http://www.afltele.com/products/optical_connectivity/connectors/FastConnectors.html There is a video and it is as easy as it looks.
