What enclosures do you use? Some of the early deployments used the tiny Pac DCE boxes with 532 boards. Everything is small. It is impossible to put the u.fl on the back with it mounted which means taking the board out. Once you take the board out you can put the u.fl on, then gently put it back in the box and hopefully you used bolted screws that don't wobble or the adhesive plastic feet. You can easily put the u.fl on the front facing card by taking it out and snapping the card in afterward.
All this really sucks when it's 120 degrees on a black roof and the sun is right above you. Same when it's freezing out and you can't feel your fingers to do this stuff. Also breaking those u.fl connectors when you're up there will probably make you go green.
