Not sure about that old snot stuff, but the Mohawk stuff comes off pretty easily. I keep one of those plastic pull up baby wipe things in the trailer. The baby wipes clean it right off the ends when I'm prepping for a crimp, and off my hands when done. I like that "lanolin" like stuff much better than the old icky pick.
