This could easily be multipath caused by a change in the ground conditions. Trees, etc.
I've got customers that get junk service every spring and fall. There are a few weeks when things just go to hell, then it clears up all on it's own. Seems to have something to do with how wet the ground is. They are usually LONG links, 10 miles or more. And there is just nothing practical that can be done to get enough height to get out of the fresnel zone issues we have. You might try moving their antenna up or down, sometimes by as little as 2' and see if that helps.
