Must solder the static drain wire to the SHIELDED RJ45 connector. The radio
has a PLASTIC body. Picks up static like you do when you walk across the
carpet in the winter time.

You basically bond everything together then allow a path for the static to
go to ground.

What if there is no drain wire?

Shielded cable that is not attached properly to the RJ45 will do nothing but
pick up MORE static.

We solder the drain wire onto the edge of the RJ45 connector after we crimp
it on the wire.
