I am using x86. Local college tossed a whole bunch of low end machines (ran XP) and I picked up a couple dozen. 3 Towers are sitting side by side in the shelves - 1 running Dude and the other 2 for spare hardware.
I would imagine you could do the same thing with random garage sale PCs, but I'm not sure how happy MT would be with bridge/chipset changes.
