Why not? It has it places, if you need a short high capacity 1 mile link, why not go 24 ghz? Save yourself from FCC fees and you can move the link to anywhere

Still though, I can't imagine too many people using the unlicensed 24 ghz band, It should be pretty clear, but if you can't bgo bigger than a 2ft dish, I guess you are pretty limited.
