I happened to help a small 501.c3 transition their desktop Quickbooks Enterprise company file to Quickbooks Online about 18months ago, since the Windows box in question had its days numbered.
They're using the entry level pricing tier at ~$25/month (possibly discounted somewhat due to 501.c3), one login that gets shared b/w a couple staffers, ~$50k/yr budget to track. Works very well, nice quasi-intelligent automatic categorization of transactions, imports .qbo files from the bank, customized reports, etc. It's definitely much simpler than putting desktop QB on an AWS instance, and possibly cheaper too.
