You want internet connected devices to work, you have to keep paying for
your internet right? I don't know of any provider who has a super-slow plan
for thermostats. I would tell them pay the normal rate, $50/mo is a LOT
cheaper than a broken pipe right?

We do offer "vacation hold" for $5/mo but that is service not active, just
lets the equipment stay at the house.
