Just as quick guess--Your new laptop has Windows XP as the OS, right If so, this is where the root of the problem is and you need to correct it within the Wireless Manager/Zero Cofiguration area of the Control Panel.
Happens all the time with this OS and is supposed to because of the way it is designed. The workaround is not that difficult to complete and accomplish. GL. We have cable internet and a Linksys router. My husband's linksys card works just fine for his laptop, but my new laptop has an internal wireless card. Now, when I try to get on, I get there, but it keeps kicking me off. I can remember something similar happening when we first got the router with our desktop, but it seemed to stop when we added the Symantec firewall. Linksys says not to use any other firewalls because the router has one-- but if it is going to kick me off every five minutes???? ANy thoughts?
