Dick,

If you are looking for a cost effective solution use a Linksys WET11
Wireless Ethernet Bridge. It will allow you to connect your antenna and
provide you with an Ethernet connection. If you split out the pairs at each
end of the Ethernet cable it will be simple to provide PoE to the WET11 you
mount with the antenna.

Subject: RE: [wirelesslan] Roof antenna to inside LAN

Hi Brian - Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not terribly sophisticated with
this stuff - so . . .

Briefly, this is what I have: A wireless AP and LAN in my camp which is
line of site (more or less) to my son in law's camp about 1 mile or less
away who also has a wireless LAN. I can receive his signal on my 18db roof
antenna BUT I want to retransmit his signal from the roof antenna which has
a "pigtail" with a male N connector. Yes, I can use a cable but I prefer to
go the wireless route from the antenna to my LAN - "bridging" his LAN to my
LAN using only Ethernet cat 6 with an POE connection to provide power and a
signal to the Bridge which I envision mounting on the antenna mast in a
waterproof box.

I hope this clearer. Also, I would like to use LinkSys equipment if
possible.
