That worked. FYI, prior to 1.8.0, starting the GeoIP path with ".\" made it relative to the Wireshark program directory. Now, starting the path with "\" (which I never tried before) makes it relative to the root of the drive. It does appear that the current version has a problem with the leading dot. Anyway, it works. I confirmed that GeoIP lookups continued to function properly even if I changed the drive letter of the USB flash drive.
