The wireshark-1.4.4.tar.bz2 file posted on the download page is dated as 01-Mar-2011 11:49, but maybe you downloaded it on 25-Mar-2011 and that's why the date differs? To be sure you have the right sources, you might want to check the file signature against the one posted at http://www.wireshark.org/download/src/all-versions/. You might also try switching to 1.4.6 now that it's been released.
