Check that Windows has the Service running that responds to ICMP packets. What is that? Got me.
If you are running XP then check Control Panel>>Windows Firewall>>Advanced>>ICMP>>Settings and be sure that everything is set on that you want. Wire shark seems to suggest that all is fine with regards to send/receive ping requests .. M1 for what ever reason will not answer the door knock ... But allows file & print sharing no problem .. I think I will pass on a reinstall Must be a Microsoft never to be solved mystery :-)) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Stephen Fisher Sent: 13 October 2006 00:44 To: Community support list for Wireshark Subject: Re: [Wireshark-users] Lost packets can not ping my machineonmynetwork Your setup sounds fine and the ping requests are leaving the other machines AND arriving at M1. However, M1 chooses not to reply. I don't see any reason from a network perspective that this is happening. If it's a Windows machine, have you tried reinstalling? :) Steve _______________________________________________ Wireshark-users mailing list [email protected] http://www.wireshark.org/mailman/listinfo/wireshark-users _______________________________________________ Wireshark-users mailing list [email protected] http://www.wireshark.org/mailman/listinfo/wireshark-users _______________________________________________ Wireshark-users mailing list [email protected] http://www.wireshark.org/mailman/listinfo/wireshark-users
