Good morning Ben, > >But we're pretty much Swiss, despite our strong Germanic accents. > > Yes I was talking about CMS, Sorry 'bout the wrong country > reference ;-)
No problem--at least you didn't mistake us for French . . . ;=) Something tells me I have just offended Gauthier. Err. Sorry. Err. > This is a tough one, though I would like to see the information > released. I am sure > information > will come from the individual presenters, but to get > conference CD will > most likely cost something. I tend to differ. As has been pointed out by other posters to the mailing list, the true value of attending a dev converence will always be personal exchange, contacts, and socialising. Also, a presentation paper is just that--a paper to be used by a presentator. I have yet to find a slide show / presentation that is completely self-sufficient and will bring over the points completely without an actual presentation going on. For me, such hand-outs and materials as found on the CD-ROM are always mementos. Without the actual presentation, they are perhaps 50-70% as useful. Hence, there's always an incentive to attend converences, IMO. Also, having the opportunity to talk to the presentator on the side is something I really don't want to miss.
