This appears to be a different approach for Dreamweaver MX. As a user, I can user the standard html tags, and also select for pre-installed libraries of tags for other server side languages (PHP, CFM, etc.) I can, as a user, create a library for Tango tags and hand code the tags and their arguments so that Dreamweaver recognizes and gives me help when I'm putting code on a page.
It appears that the libraries and their support information can also be downloaded to Dreamweaver - I'm assuming it's an XML file - from specified sources. I'd think someone who knows how to do this and has the meta tag dictionary could make Tango an equal player in this new development environment. I'm just starting to play with Dreamweaver MX (there are some problems with the 'trial' security wrapper that makes it timeout too quickly), but it appears that one can define data sources etc., much as one can in Tango editor. In any case, just having all the meta tags available without requiring each Tango coder to do the same configuration routine would be a very good thing and make it more conspicuous to the legions of Dreamweaver designer/developers. Download the trial at www.macromedia.com [caveat: it the trial will time out if you have network time sync on or change your network config, so be careful if you're on macos x] On 5/5/02 12:08 PM, "Jose Kuhn" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > If I recall correctly the old Dreamweaver Library IDE was written in > JavaScript. > > Jose > > on 5/5/02 2:35 PM, Scott Cadillac at [EMAIL PROTECTED] > wrote: > >> Hi Roland, >> >> What is the MX Tag Library exactly? >> >> I've never used Dreamweaver myself, but I'm guessing the Tag Library is a >> way of calling some sort of collection of server-side Dreamweaver functions >> (sometimes known as Extensions)?
