Roland,

MySQL I�ve found to be pretty easy to work with, but another one to consider
would be Primebase � it�s out for OS X, has Mac ODBC drivers available, is
pretty affordable (licenses start around $500 I think) and you can learn
lots more about it from Robert Garcia. He�s been a tremendous help to us.
