Subject: Witango-Talk: WiTango on Linux

Hey List,

I installed WiTango server on linux. (Install is easy under RedHat).

Anyways, I want to know how to set up an ODBC datasource under Linux? It's a
MYSQL database.
I'm testing WiTango on the server for my client. My goal is to get them from
PhP to WiTango.

However, my cool WiTango app (That I developed in under a day, in PhP it
took over a week.) won't work without the datasource! Any help would be
appreciated!

Thanks!

Tango Application Server and documentation for Linux
Welcome to Tango 2000 Application Server for Linux (trial version)!

We recommend that you print out these release notes and refer to them as you go
through the process of installing Tango 2000 Application Server for Linux.

Tango Application Server is used to deploy the Web applications developed with Tango
Editor. It is available for Windows, Macintosh, Solaris, and Linux platforms. Tango
Application Server is included in the Tango 2000 Application Server for Linux package.
Tango Editor is included in Tango 2000 Development Studio and available for Windows
and Macintosh platforms.

For links to Tango Development Studio, see the Download Links section below. Choose
the appropriate link for the platform you use.

Please read the Tango 2000 Read Me (the readme.txt file) before installation. These
release notes contain essential information about running Tango 2000 Application
Server. You can also read these notes after installation by opening the Read Me at the
root of the install location: /usr/local/tango.

Installing Pervasive.SQL 2000 and Tango 2000

Pervasive.SQL is the industry-leading relational and transactional database engine
designed for zero administration. If you want to install both Pervasive.SQL and Tango
2000, it is strongly recommended that you install Pervasive.SQL first. See the
Pervasive.SQL documentation for details.

If you want to use Tango Demo (StoreFront System), you must have Pervasive.SQL
installed before you install Tango, and have both Pervasive.SQL and Tango running on
your machine.

See the Download Links section below for the link to the trial version of
Pervasive.SQL for Linux.

Tango 2000 Application Server Installation File

There are two Tango Application Server installation files, for different versions of
Linux.

If you use Red Hat 5.2, the file is
Tango2000-server-4-RedHat52_i386.rpm [13.4MB]
If you use Red Hat 6.x, SuSE 6.1 or higher, or Caldera 2.2 or higher, the file is
Tango2000-server-4-Linux_i386.rpm [13.2MB]
Each of these files contains:

Tango 2000 Application Server for Linux components
Tango documentation (including the Getting Started Guide, Meta Tag and Configuration
Variables manual, User's Guide, Tutorials, and Read Me).
For links to Tango Application Server, see the Download Links section below. Choose
the appropriate link for the Linux version you use.

Installing Tango 2000 Application Server for Linux (trial version) automatically
includes a 30-day evaluation license, if you do not enter a CD key in the post install
script.

Note

The Tango 2000 Application Server package uses the free iODBC Driver Manager as
written by Ke Jin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, enhanced with local modifications from
Pervasive for the NetWare platform. Pervasive will donate their code changes to the
current maintainer of the iODBC Driver Manager project, in accordance with the LGPL
license agreement of this project.

The iODBC Driver Manager home page is located at:

For further information on this project, contact it's current maintainer: Patrick van
Kleef <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
