I would bet it does. Unless you specify the criteria in the post arguments
in the link it will probably not use them in the search action.

I tried to test that but I get a read only permission error when I do it
that way. The Web query is much more user friendly at least in Office 2002
(XP)

It opens a browser window and you navigate as you would in the browser.

Then you select the table to import and import. In properties you can tell
it so save the query and then you can just refresh it from excel when
needed.
