John, Also note, (And I got caught on this one, but only the once) that Witango's file actions (read/write/delete) occur on the machine with the _application_ server, not the machine with the _web_ server.
The rest as Steve said. Which means that the web server does not even need ODBC installed on it! But the machine with _application_ server definitely does, as Steve said, 'cause that's where the DB connections will be made from.
