By watching the process viewer, I can see that the witangod process spontaneously quits. Anyone have experience with this?

Trying to set up wiTango/WS 5.x on Mac OSX. I'm using FMP.
I followed the readme directions for starting up wiTango to work with FMP, but all I get is:
----------- Client Error
Can't send a request to the application server. -----------
Any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance!
