Is it possible to call a java class in a taf file without running JAS? If it is possible can you please tell me how it can be done. I am running Tango2000 with iplanet webserver.

Did you write the "stub" class to interface with Tango? The JAS server is a very special thing that hardly anybody uses, and definitly isn't running by default.
