I never had any luck with unixODBC. I'm accessing PostgreSQL via iODBC (2.1.6 - the version that ships with OS X). If you're willing to try iODBC, I could probably give you step-by-step instructions. But I don't know offhand where to find a MySQL ODBC driver to work with iODBC.

I really need some help setting up ODBC on OSX.--
I have no problem setting up and running unixODBC on linux, but I found OSX to be most perplexing. I had an eval version of the openlink drivers working, but when it expired I asked for an extension, and no matter what, the license stays expired. (Hardly makes me want to pay for it).
I've installed mysql locally, just in case any libraries are needed. I've tried:
myODBC binary -- odbctest always balks saying it can't find a library myODBC source -- balks saying it can't find a library (I've installed the mysql source also) unixODBC source -- make always fails unixODBC binary -- oops the Kompany.com only has it for 10.1 and I'm running 10.2
I've tried mucking with my environment but I'm getting lost.
I've just installed Jaguar on an iMac, so I have a a virgin system to try to straighten this out. Can anyone look thru their shell history and tell me what they did to get a working ODBC.
Thanks.
