wT2K MS 2K server MS SQL 7 I've been using some of the basic tafs from the storefront demo and modifying them to fit my needs. I am having a problem with the Purchase.taf in the Orders folder. I'm getting an occasional failure on DB insert. The taf first tries to gain Read/Write Exclusive control of the DB, writes some data, then tries to read the same data. If this is successful the rest of the data is written to the DB, if not successful the transaction is canceled, DB is rolled back and an error email goes out. This process works most of the time, but I really think I am getting too many Insert Failed errors (3 errors out of 15 transactions). I have been unable to spot a trend or common item, but suspect that the errors occur because someone else (another user) is in the DB when the Purchase.taf tries to gain control.
I was wondering if there is a better way to do this. I was also thinking that maybe I could try more than once to gain Exclusive control if the first time fails. Would this cause problems?
