I do not have any logging on MySQL that I can tell. However, I did notice something that may shed some light on the issue. I have phpMyAdmin installed, and it shows active processes connected to the database. When I do the initial query a process appears on the list with the status "Sleep" which seems to stick around indefinitely. I attempted to kill the process and now the process has the status "Killed" but still shows up on the process list (with an ever-increasing "Time" value).
My thought is that there is some persistent connection that Witango is holding on to that is interfering with all subsequent DB actions (which might also explain the timeout when I try to stop the Witango Server 5 service).
I restarted the MySQL service and checked the active processes again, and the ghost process was gone. However, the tango scripts still would not work. And, again, attempting to restart the Witango service hangs, forcing me to reboot the server.
Weird.

Is the problem between witango and IIS or witango and mySQL? Try to confirm that you can run any number of taf files that don't hit the db.
Do you have logging on in mysql? Maybe that will show the source of the
problem.
What about a taf (DirectDBMS action) that doesn't hit tables, but just performs a SQL action, e.g. SELECT NOW();
Hello All,
I'm new to the list, so excuse me if my question is a repeat (although a quick search of the archives turned up nothing about my issue).
I have Witango 5.01.062 on a Windows 2000 machine running IIS and MySQL
(and the latest MySQL ODBC drivers).
Whenever I run a tango script that hits the database (I've only tested
Search actions so far), the first ever action runs fine. Every
subsequent Search action fails with an "Unrecoverable OS Exception"
error being written to the Application log. This isn't limited to a
single script, either. That is to say, I have a login script that does
a single search. The first time I run it, I log in fine. From that
point on, every tango script that has a Search action, including that
login script, fails.
Also, when I then try to do a Stop/Start on the Witango 5 service, the Stop fails saying that it was unable to successfully stop the service "in a timely fashion" (and then it no longer gives me the option to stop or start). I am forced to reboot the server for it to start working again.
Any ideas, or at least any pointers on where I should look if this is already covered in some documentation that I might've missed?
Thanks.
