Some of you may have already done this, or maybe no one has, but I thought I'd give it a shot. We're finding we are outgrowing the capabilities of our current graphing package with Witango. The users needs are getting too sophisticated. We have found that we can do what is required using Excel and exporting to a web page. Problem is we need it to also be dynamic, for example, some graphs have to be refreshed on a 15 minute interval.
Now, Excel also has a built in Webquery that allows just that, but only as long as Excel is running. What that means is, you can ask Excel to query the database and display the new chart every 15 minutes, but only from within Excel. Once you save the chart it becomes static. Has anyone tied Witango to Excel in such a way that what we're looking to accomplish is possible? Or is someone using a more sophisticated charting package with Witango that allows you to specify bar colors, place the bar values on the bars themselves, etc? Our environment is Windows 2000, Witango 5 and SQL. Thanks for your help!
