those are UI things. I'd like to know if this affects witango dev studio, app server, odbc, jdbc, mysql, etc., the stuff that matters.

There are UI changes indeed most of them good- I hate the new MS like windows though. There is a button to be rid of that left side nav info. (I did not mind it on top- can't do that anymore.)
My most positive aspect is the noticeable speed bump. Hard to quantify but very noticeable on a G4 400 and a Dual G4 800.
