I would use one drive for your current OS9 needs, then build X on the
other drive to give yourself some testing time and a fall back plan.
Once switched to X (and W5) use the old OS9 drive either for backup or a
mirror (RAID 1).

In my server setup all of my machines have 2 drive RAID 1 configurations
to virtually remove the possibility of a drive failure.

Subject: Witango-Talk: Hard Drive setup suggestions for new server?

We are about to replace our aging Mac G3 server with a new Dual G4
1.25G.
It has 768mb Ram and 2 80Gb HD's.

We are still running Web* v4.5 and witango 4 to FMP and are not ready to

upgrade until after Xmas. (Can't risk the down time). So, we need to
run
the server on OS-9.

Should we split main HD into 2 partitions and install a OS-9 on the
second?
Or Should we set up the second HD as the OS-9 drive, then later when we
switch to OS-X use it for backup?

DB runs on another machine and that too will be upgraded shortly.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Stephen
