I would suggest running OS 9 on a separate hard drive or partition. Since it is not the database server, I would put it on the second drive -- much easier to switch things over later...

We are about to replace our aging Mac G3 server with a new Dual G4 1.25G.
It has 768mb Ram and 2 80Gb HD's.

We are still running Web* v4.5 and witango 4 to FMP and are not ready to
upgrade until after Xmas. (Can't risk the down time). So, we need to run
the server on OS-9.

Should we split main HD into 2 partitions and install a OS-9 on the
second?
Or Should we set up the second HD as the OS-9 drive, then later when we
switch to OS-X use it for backup?

DB runs on another machine and that too will be upgraded shortly.

Any advice would be appreciated.
