Hi
Witango recognizes both the double (") and single (') quote character pairs
as attribute delimiters.
-and-
The attributes of this tag must obey all the quoting rules specified in
Quoting Attributes; for example, if the COMMENT attribute contains spaces,
you may not omit the quotes surrounding the attribute value.
Note: yes I know, it still hoses if you put " around it
<@! "we can't afford it to be different">
So if you really want the single quote do this
<@! "we can''t afford it to be different">
of course you probably already read this out of the docs and you have hair
on the floor :-)
IMHO, I am hard pressed as seeing this as a bug given the number of
applications I have worked with that are anal about quote pairs ;-)

Subject: Witango-Talk: annoyance with comments
Hey All!
Noticed a trait with comments today that I noticed a LONG time ago and I
thought somebody would have fixed now. Quiz question, what's wrong with this
comment:
<@! we do this because we need the timestamp for more than one operation and
we can't afford it to be different>
If you answered that the comment contained a SINGLE QUOTE, and it will
basically hoop any code after it, you're absolutely correct. What I'm having
a hard time understanding is why. I realize there's probably a really good
reason for it, but what I fail to realize is that good reason.
I shouldn't have to hunt for crap like this. It reminds me too much of
debugging HC-11 assembly for hours because of a single space at the end of a
line. Things like this that made me go bald! hehe....
Anybody?
Cheers,
Jonah Simpson
