After many weeks on the phone with Macromedia customer support they were able to get Macrovision to create a work around.
The problem stems from environment variables that Macrovision uses that get set or overwritten by other applications.
It also has trouble with fast user switching in Mac OS X. You can't be logged in more than one account and have multiple instances of Dreamweaver open.
If you have more questions contact me off the list.

To anyone who has experienced this or may have a thought.
We recently installed Witango Studio 5.5 on our development platforms. After doing so, our Dreamweaver 2004 Professional now no longer will open up . . . does anyone know what may have happened?
Best, Stephen
