There were some issues originally with Webstar plug-in, but they've been resolved, and there was recently a bug in an MSIE windoze patch that only affected witango on webstar (with persistent connections).

I don't know about performance or speed issues, as I only have W* - largely for ease of use and a pile of features/functions controllable in one admin UI. 4D folk make claims of performance advantages and put out white papers on why Webstar's methods are better. That's all moot for me, though, given the traffic loads I have are modest. I would say that the W* community and support is excellent - second to none.

Does anyone have a firm opinion (or even a fairly well gelled one) as to the relative merits/demerits of using Apache vs. WebSTAR with Witango on Mac OS X?
I'm talking about the latest versions of each. I searched the archive but didn't find any clear (at least to me) discussion of this.

Cost is obvious but what about:

speed?
load handling?
reliability?
flexibility?
security?
ease of use?
the future?

I making this decision very soon and would appreciate anyone's thoughts or experiences.

P.S. I wonder why WebSTAR doesn't list Witango on their big list of plug-ins on their web-site. I emailed this very question to them, but no answer yet.
