It's amazing how a quick vent of the spleen seems to take the pressure off
the brain.
I managed to discover that whether or not a file is executable or not is
indeed a permissions thing, but you can't set it through Get Info. You can
use the command line chmod or, if you are CLI deficient like me, use
BatChmod. Just drag the file onto is and set the preferences as check boxes.
Then, you can use the terminal and PICO to edit the crontab file. It's in
/private/etc/.
So I now have a successfully running 5.09 version of the server. Bugs and
all.
Hang on, wasn't I here over two weeks ago?
