I doubt there would be a noticeable difference. In theory, the 2.8 would tend to be a little faster, but the XEON MP would have more upgradeability. HOWEVER, the process is NOT your primary concern on this server (not like say a Witango Server). The first item to max out is your hard drive arrays (yes plural) and the second is to max out your memory (think 64-bit), then consider CPU. Oh, and more CPUs (semi-counting HT) are better than faster CPUs, that’s why the MP solution (which I assume can scale to 4 CPUs is better).
