Just a thought, but what would happen if you make your changes to the
witango.ini file and the change the attributes to read only before running
<@RELOADCONFIG>?

thats wierd I didn't notice that, I could have sworn it just reloaded from
the ini but I guess not.

I'm not sure if it helps in your situation but did you know you can change
configuration variables in the system scope?

if you need to change a setting without bringing down the server, you could
change it in the system scope (maybe through a password protected witango
prompt) and then reloadconfig to save your changes to witango.ini it looks
like.
