The JVM should not be an issue as I do not think that it was part of the
feature set of T3.6.  (My memory does not go back that far so I may be
wrong)

It should be possible to run the server as long as you have the correct
libraries installed.  The executable will complain on load if it cannot find
libraries it needs.  You can create a sym link with the old name to the new
libraries and see if the server will link it in when it loads.  As long as
the symbols and APIs have not changed you should be OK.

OS Version - Try and stay with an OS version that is no more than 2-3 years
later than the Tango build.

Stability - I would keep a close eye on it and would not recommend doing
this for mission critical apps.
