Thanks everyone!!! That did the trick. While the files were present (C:\Program Files\WitangoServer\5.5) they were not placed in the proper directory by the installer. It's never mentioned anywhere (other than this list) that they are required. I guess if I knew more about IIS I might have "figured it out"

Thanks again,
Dominick Delio

They are MS files. They can be found on the web in places like
dll-downloads.com I found that I did have to install them by hand on my
Windows 2000 boxes (although some other application installed one of them in
some cases) and that my XPSP2 box did not require them to be installed.

If I'm not mistaken, they have to do with a newer version of a complier
(.NET studio I believe) being used. Oh, and the need for these files arose
in 5.5.004 I think, although 5.5.009 is the first publicly released version
with the dependency.

I do not believe that windows update will update files unless they are
required to be (for security reasons) and these files aren't always required
by other software. In fact, you might notice that version 50, 60, and 70
might reside in your system32 folder, the 71 version is just the latest
available. It's really the job of installers to put them where they need to
be, when they need to be there.

Note that anyone running Witango on a separate system from their Web server will have to manually install these files ON THE WEB SERVER. These files are
required for the IIS plugin, not the Witango executable. Anyone not using
the IIS plugin need not worry about this thread.

Please check the Witango folder (and sub folders) for the files, they might
be (should be) distributed with the installer, but simply not placed where
they belong. Again %windows_dir%/system32 is the preferred placement,
although local to the IIS plugin dll, or otherwise in the system path should
be acceptable.

Aren't msvcp71.dll and msvcr71 MS files. Why doesn't
auto update update all the MFC libraries?

Where can I download the ms*71.dll files from.
