No I did not. And I think all I wrote was witango related.

You can search back on the lists, and they have been many times I have done side by side comparisons. With webservers, operating systems, external action methods, this one just didn't come out in witangos favor. I honestly thought it would be close, more like a tie.

And on the xml stuff, don't get me started again. :-). I think the attitude of, if witango doesn't parse it, fix it, is a big problem. Every XML class I have used, accessing the dom is not restricted to validating the xml. And we have no documentation to understand this relationship.

I am going to make a feature request, that <@dom> does nothing more than parse, like my java code did, and they can add an extra tag, like <@validatexml> or maybe something like, <@dom value="myxml" validate="true/false">, and leave it that, I have said my piece, and made my argument.

But until today, I wouldn't even have known to make this request. witango v5 blew up on xml, and so did v5.5. But sometimes v5.5 is just declaring it invalid.

I guess the only solution to witango users, if they need reliable access to dom from provided xml, not internally created xml, is write a javabean, or some other action.

Rob,

I don't mind you writing on the list about anything Witango related. I just don't think what you wrote yesterday is the best way to get Witango to change how they do things (which is something I'd like).

Yesterday struck me as a "I'm leaving and I'm burning my bridges as I go" kind of message. If you didn't mean it that way, then I apologise.

Regards,

Jason.

And for the record (jason), I am moving to php, that is true, but I have several clients on this list, that use witango everyday, and pay me to help them work through these issues.
