Its an amazing thing when you rescue a child. I can't tell you. My 8
year old was six when she came, we just celebrated 2 years. It was
tough, she was tough, so messed up. We almost gave up, but we just
made it, and she is a beautiful little girl. There are times when she
will come and hug or kiss me, and I swear when I look in her eyes she
is thanking me for rescuing her. It is extremely hard for the first
year or two, but the rewards are indescribable.
In my area, Chico California, there are about 15 social workers that
serve my county, which is not heavily poplulated, but hammered with
meth issues. They each have a case load of 40+ kids that they
consider unadoptable. Kids that no one wants. We have taken in 3,
that is about all we can handle at the moment. I mention this, cuz it
is probably similar whereever you all live. Better or worse. Maybe
someone reading this, has it in them to give it a shot. It would be
one more kid that didn't have to grow up in a group home.

Subject: Re: Witango-Talk: [Off] Prayers, good Thoughts
My prayers are with you. We have 6 children, 3 biologically, 2
adopted, and 1 in the adoption process, all of the last 3 were
special needs, and with various issues ranging from
abuse/neglect and
the last one born addicted to meth. Different problems, but I
have an
understanding of what you are going through. No need to conserve
bandwidth.

I apologize in advance for this off topic. This is personal so if
that is an

it would
be best not to post any responses here.
My 14 year old who is bi-polar has been diagnosed with Tardive
Dystonia. In
short this gives him symptoms facial and speech very much like
someone with
advanced Parkinson's. It is a side effect of his medication Abilify.
We have suspected this was an issue for two years but all the
Doctors kept
telling us it was not a side effect of this drug. Now of course we
understand it is and has been a known side effect in Japan
for several
years.
Anyway stopping the medicine may or may not fix the problem. It
could be
permanent. So besides doing what the neurologist suggests, and
looking at
holistic therapy like homeopathy and Therapeutic touch it would be
a great
help we believe for good thoughts and or prayers to be sent
Ari's way.
Of course anyone who may have experience with this and wants to
chime in
back channel we are in a major listening mode.
For anyone who does visualization or imagery with their healing
thoughts
there is a picture of Ari up on our .mac site
